Education: Related college degree or successful completion of banking courses is preferred.

Education: High school degree is required; College/University or trade school degree in technology strongly preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience required; more years preferred.
  • Solid technical knowledge of, and experience technically supporting 50%+ of the following: Microsoft Windows desktop, Microsoft Windows Server, Citrix desktop, Citrix server, internet usage, internet service providers, PC hardware, server hardware, local and network printers, computer room cabling, SANs, server virtualization, VoIP systems and phones, routers, switches, firewalls, telecommunications hardware and services (T1, PRI, MPLS, etc), Microsoft Active Directory (GPOs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, etc), Microsoft Server services (Exchange, SQL, proxy, IIS, WSUS), Linux, Microsoft Office, Blackberry, anti-virus, security updates.
  • Solid technical knowledge of, and experience technically supporting vendor-supplied line-of-business applications in a networked production environment required.
  • Industry certifications in networking or communications strongly preferred. (CCNA, MCSA, etc.)
  • Technical Services: Prior Banking industry experience is a plus, especially as it pertains to line-of-business application usage and/or customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


GENERAL:

  • Present and maintain exceptional customer service on initial contact and follow-up with all verbal and written communications.
  • Ensure the stable operation of the in-house network system by working as a supporting engineering and administration position with Senior Network Engineers in planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, repairing, upgrading, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communications components of the network infrastructure (detailed in Qualifications section).
  • Determine root-cause of problem, perform research (via internet, vendors, internal resources) to determine best resolution, and implement appropriate solution using network management tools, remote access tools, correspondence (email/phone) with customers, contacting vendors, etc.
  • Keep Service Desk requests (known internally as Slips) updated with detail comments in tracking system, our official point of record, so everyone can know the current status of a slip.
  • Work closely with our technology vendor-partners that supply our technology and/or provide additional support, in the resolution of break/fix issues, installation of new and upgraded products, and designing network infrastructure to ensure its compatibility.
  • Assist in defining operational support tasks for systems and applications as needed to keep them in top working order, and work with management and Service Desk to get those tasks under procedures and daily run guides.
  • Resolve the Level II/III slips that have been escalated from the Service Desk Technicians by the Service Desk Manager or others. Act as a go-to expert for Service Desk Technicians when they need technical assistance.
  • Install and maintain end-user workstation software; configure workstation operating systems, utilities, and applications on an infrequent basis and of moderate complexity.
  • Assist with the creation and ongoing maintenance of desktop images.
  • Perform the testing of fixes and software updates prior to their full implementation on a frequent basis and of moderate complexity.
  • Perform project related tasks as assigned and scheduled on a frequent basis and of moderate complexity.
  • Work closely with the Chief Information Officer and Senior Network Engineers to design, engineer, and develop implementation plans for network infrastructure initiatives by proactively submitting ideas and suggestions and engaging in healthy technical discussions.
  • Be available to work a variety of shifts. Be available during non-production hours to implement systems and upgrades. Be on call 24x7 for emergency outages. Provide backup coverage to Service Desk during absences and participate in weekend Saturday coverage rotation.

TECHNICAL SERVICES:

  • Work closely with manager to monitor and adjust priorities and work flow.
  • Keep other team members and manager updated with any problems encountered, particularly as they relate to customer service, due dates, or security issues.
  • Make recommendations and suggestions that positively contribute to the progress of the department. Participate actively in scheduled meetings and impromptu conversations.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating departmental documentation.
  • Demonstrate dependable and consistent attendance by working shift as assigned, and being at workstation during assigned scheduled times.
